Bio and Research InterestsBetsy is the Program Coordinator for the CoolCalifornia Challenge within the Renewable and Appropriate Energy Laboratory at the University of California, Berkeley. Betsy was born and raised in Oakhurst, CA, a small town approximately 20 miles south of Yosemite National Park. Since then, she has lived in Seattle, Stockton and the East Bay Area. Betsy’s general interests include sustainable consumption, behavioral psychology, organic agriculture, political ecology, bioethics, and socio-environmental relations. She is particularly an expert in sustainable behavior and looks forward to the promising future of the field. Betsy’s hobbies include reading, gardening, and dancing ballet, although her favorite activity is hiking and playing with her two dogs, a Chocolate Labrador and a Terrier Mix.
