CoolCalifornia Carbon Challenge

The Cool California Carbon Challenge is a unique partnership between California State agencies, academia, local governments, community-based organizations and local business.
The goal of this project is to develop, monitor and evaluate an innovative carbon footprint reduction program for California households and communities based on ARB’s CoolCalifornia.org website and toolkit.
The program, tentatively called the Cool California Carbon Challenge (CCCC), will engage three pilot communities in an intra- and inter-community carbon footprint reduction competition that provides information, resources and rewards to individuals, groups of individuals and communities that achieve carbon footprint reductions and other milestones.
The CoolCalifornia.org Carbon Calculator and social networking features will be used to monitor and compare carbon footprints, pledges and progress of program participants and communities overall.
