Biography- Caine Chan

Bio and Research Interest
Caine is the Research and Data Manipulation Intern at the Renewable and Appropriate Energy Laboratory at University of California, Berkeley where she concentrates on developing carbon management tools for China. She recently graduated with a B.S. in Environmental Economics and Policy.

Caine was born and raised in Hong Kong and moved to the United States in 2007 where she attended two years of community college before transferring to UC Berkeley. Her general interests include renewable energy development, sustainable consumption, green building certification, electric vehicles and carbon trading and finance.

After spending a semester in South Africa during Fall 2011 and worked on a project on microfinance at the Department of Agricultural and Resources Economics, she developed sincere interest in the development and deployment of energy technologies that impact poverty in developing countries.

In her free time, Caine enjoys taking pictures, play basketball and watch NBA (a true Boston Celtics fanatic!), and try out new restaurants.
